Ms B asked:

I work in NYC, and if by any chance of a miracle I find lunch for under $10, some places have a minimum charge where you HAVE to spend a certain amount when paying with a debit or credit card. For some its $7 and others it may be $10. I just wanted to know if this was even legal. I know they have to pay for the machines, but there are thousands of people eating at these places everyday, so I’m sure they are making enough.

I guess it just annoys me because I’m not a fan of carrying cash everyday. I have my money monitored through my debit/credit cards for budget purposes, and I can’t keep track of everything if I have to take out cash all the time…just wondering…thanks.

Earl

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER asked:

how did this bulls…. ever get passed. so i want car insurance and had 1 ticket in 6 years so that does not really count and my insurance started at $500 for 6 months then I hit the submit button and the final price says because of your credit rating the price has been increased to $1000 every 6 months and I almost punched my monitor. what the f… does my credit have to do with my car insurance?? so I have a great driving record and no accidents and 1 ticket in 11 years and none in 6 but because my job went bankrupt and folded i can not pay my bills and filed bankruptcy. what does that have to do with car insurance. I can see if my report said filing a false claim or theft or something like that. we as Americans should fight this crap.
yeah I just read something about that saying that for some reason ppl with bad credit have 5 times as many claims and/or their vehicles come up missing then ppl with great credit but still it should be on a individual basics. if you are going to run my credit then go over it and see why my credit is bad you get my point. filing bankruptcy does not make me a bad driver or have anything what so ever to do with my driving ability.

Craig

Alster asked:

I was reading a newspaper today and found that the government are going to or are going to monitor the web sites we visit! If this is true isn’t it a breach of our human rights and if so how could we combat this!? IP randomizers, Really heavy firewalls! I don’t want the government finding what I buy on Ebay, my credit card details on Amazon or the questions I post on Yahoo! Being caught on CCTV hundreds of times a day is enough thanks!

I mean how dare they try to crack my life. What I do in my own home (like what I watch on TV and what I do on the net) is my business. For example; I run a website with passwords. If they view the sites I visit then they’ll know the passwords I use. What’s to stop my passwords getting out to the public! I mean they’ve already lost bank details and prisoner information, what’s to stop them losing my info!

I already know credit card companies are going to monitor our buying habits in the future. Don’t get me started on that!

We must rebel against all this. What do you guys think?

Lynn
