Should I get a credit card?

I’m 19, if it matters, and I was wondering if I should get a credit card. I don’t usually pay for things with anything other than a closely monitored debit card or cash, but someone said that I should start building my credit history. What do you think? Should I get a credit card? Is there another way to build credit besides a card? I already know that I’d have to pay it all off at the end of the month.
