Anvinraj V. S. asked:

Credit monitoring is the report issued by the regulatory authorities of the state, to describe credit worthiness of an individual or an organization. This report considers the past credit history, the present financial status, etc to rank the credit worthiness. This is done to monitor the possible fraud as well as the changes in the financial status.

The monitoring is based on some statistical parameters, called the credit scores. If your score is low, the more risky it would be to get the credited amount back. The monitoring is done by the TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. However, online facilities are there to get the free ratings from any of these regulatory bodies.

Free credit scores websites allow you to view your credit report by simply entering your email address or your login ID from any of the three regulatory bodies. The reason why you should view your reports regularly is because it will help you in keeping track of your credit status. If anything abnormal is observed, it is reported instantly to the user to make the preventive actions. Since, it is not always possible to maintain the status and the credit monitoring on a daily basis by physical checking, so the online service is sought after.

The scores are important for both short and long term credit. One can look for a hefty amount to meet the emergency, or in order to invest it on a long term basis. A bad score can hamper the opportunity to get future credit sanctioned. In this regard, the help from the credit consulting agencies serve their purpose. They, with a thorough monitoring on the client’s financial status, generate the credit report. They make valuable suggestions as well to improve the score.

The online credit appraisal organizations in some cases work on behalf of their clients as well. As we know, the credit appraisal requires the secret financial data of the client like the account identity passwords etc. Once they are submitted online, there is every opportunity to get the data hacked by unauthorized users. The organization, in this regard act as a safeguard for the client to maintain the secrecy of the data, apart from this facility, they sometime act as the representative for their clients and act as the intermediary between the client and the credit sanctioning institute.

As a part of the credit monitoring, the organizations that provide the service of free credit scores are the indispensable option for the individual to get an improved score. An improved score can be achieved only by effectively designing the credit accounts. The organizations also provide enough support and valuable inputs in doing that. But the most important criteria is the trustworthiness of the organization. Today internet is the biggest source of information, and before visiting, one can easily check the market reviews as well as the cost. Once the research about these is made, it is easy to make a choice.

John

Nickolay Bokhonok asked:

Needles to say, that when it concerns your credit it is impossible to be too cautious. That is the reason why credit monitoring is a crucial step to consider. But before you get involved you should be informed about this issue. The following credit monitoring analysis involves key aspects you need to be aware of.

First of all it is essential to understand that credit monitoring provides a really convenient package that consists of important advantages of several services. As a matter of fact its key aim is not only to repair the bad credit but future damage to the credit can be avoided as well. This is achieved via alerting to any changes on your report.

So, as it was already mentioned credit repair is one of the major parts of credit monitoring. In simple words it means that your credit will be restored by regular disputing questionable derogatory items on the credit report. It should be added that the majority of people are not even aware of some negative aspect on their credits. This fact can not be disregarded because such errors can significantly drag down the credit score. So, the first step that is involved in monitoring is credit score reviewing. It will be useful for you to find out that professional services will provide a money-back guarantee.

The second step you should be aware of is prevention. In this way it will be possible to stop derogatory items before they begin.

Most companies will provide you with such services as:

1. In-depth monthly analysis of your credit report. It means that you will be aware of how your credit score is influenced.
2. Email notification. If your credit report is modified in a manner that can influence your credit score, you will find this out at once through email.
3. Insurance against identity theft. You will be provided with financial protection that is needed in cases the identity is stolen.

I hope this credit monitoring analysis made the matter clearer for you and now you are ready to deal with it without hesitation.

Corey

Have you ever read the guarantees on those things? Has more holes in it than swiss cheese. All they’re doing is charging you to do what you can do yourself. We’re not talking about you doing your own root canal here. Were talking about making a some phone calls… and then setting a reminder on outlook express to make 1 phone call every 90 days. It’s a joke. You don’t need to pay $150 a year (or more) for Identity Theft Insurance. Well, maybe you do, if you want to support someone in an MLM or Network Marketing Company (maybe). Hey, I’ve bought crazy juices, vitamins even a dumb water filter just to get my friends to quit bugging me about their MLM opportunities before. I admit it! There you go. But when it comes to ID THEFT PREVENTION, that’s different. You can do it better yourself. Just watch BOTH videos parts 1 and 2. Together they are worth a couple hundred bucks. No kidding! Listen. You’re going to learn how to get your credit reports not once a year but twice a year – FOR FREE! Not only that. No one is going to be able to get approved for ANY credit ANYWHERE without the creditor first calling you at the telephone number on your credit report! How you like them apples? and… were just getting started.
Millie Borris asked:

In this day and age, identity theft is more common than ever. People are finding new ways every day to steal parts of your identity, from social security information to credit card numbers. Identity thieves find new ways to poach this information, and you may never know about it until it is too late. Fortunately, there are ways to protect yourself.

One great way to protect yourself from identity theft is to use credit monitoring. Credit monitoring allows you to obtain a copy of your credit report and check it for updates whenever you want. It’s the best way to make sure the information on your credit report is accurate. Credit monitoring has features designed to ensure your identity is protected.

The first step is to sign up for the service and review your credit report. Make sure all information is correct, from address information to account details. For many people, this is the only way you will know if you’ve been a victim of identity theft. Review your report and if you see information that is incorrect, rather it be a higher balance or an entirely new account, alert the credit bureaus. Credit monitoring has tools that make this very easy.

Most credit monitoring services offer daily updates. If anyone is trying to apply for credit in your name, you will know about it immediately. The faster you are alerted, the better. If you wait a month to pull another credit report, there could already be a severe amount of damage done to your credit score. By receiving daily updates, you know the exact status of your accounts and credit report every single day.

Credit monitoring services also offer identity theft insurance. In addition to the normal benefits, this offers you some much needed protection should you fall victim to identity theft. The insurance will cover all the damages done to you. Coverage can be as expansive as you’d like, sometimes up to $1 million or more. Having protection should you be victimized is an excellent benefit.

When you sign up for credit monitoring, you also have access to put fraud alerts on your account in an easy fashion. This provides protection should your identity be stolen. If someone tries to apply for credit in your name, the creditor must verify your identity, usually by a telephone call. This means that regardless of where someone applies for credit, they won’t be able to retrieve it since the creditor will see the fraud alert and be required to call you to verify that is actually you who is applying.

There’s no need to hire an extravagant identity theft protection company. Credit monitoring offers the same benefits at much lower costs. On top of that, you get all of the other benefits including regular updates to your credit score and tools to teach you about credit. The identity theft services that come with credit monitoring are easy to use and provide endless benefits to you. The best way to protect your identity is to stay on top of your credit report. Credit monitoring does that for you.

Phyllis

Montana asked:

I have Identity Monitor from Citi (I have a credit card with them). One of the features of the Identity Monitor is that I can look up my credit report whenever. It tells me accurately what is on my report (it matches up with my free credit reports from those 3 agencies or whatever). So, would you say the credit score it gives me is about accurate?

Does anyone know their score more factually and have Identity monitor? are the scores the same or at least close?
Yeah, I know about Transunion, Experian and Equifax, but I looked them up before during this year and I’m in the process of building up my credit, so I was hoping that there was an accurate source that would reflect the changes I make.

Why do you say it is/isn’t accurate? Do you use it yourself? Again I know it’ll never be right on to the point, but is it completely wrong for some reason? Sugar-coated somehow?

Marilyn
